We’re in a period of big change in our region’s homeless system, with new leadership, new funding, a new county department, and a whole new affordable housing agency.
It’s a lot to wrap your head around, and that’s part of why the Leadership Table exists. One of its main jobs is to inform the public about these changes and track whether they’re working.

Our region has invested in many of the right solutions to homelessness, but a lack of centralized leadership and alignment has limited our ability to effectively respond to the growing crisis. Each jurisdiction (including the 88 cities of LA County) has historically followed its own individual strategy with no central decision-making body to bring everyone together. Measure A, passed in 2024, attempts to address this problem by empowering two new groups of leaders:
The Executive Committee is made up of political leaders and government officials who oversee the creation of a unified countywide plan to address homelessness.
The Leadership Table is ****made up of public officials who have direct experience with the homeless response system and community leaders who represent broad sectors of LA County, like the faith community, business, labor, and so on.
